1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I have always been a tinkerer since I was a child; I would help my dad build furniture, play with LEGOs, and take apart things. This kinetic learning has shaped me into the designer I am today.
2. How did you get into design?
In high school, I got into 3D sculpting as well as engineering. This led me to pursue product design while in college. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design.
3. What kind of tools and resources are you using when working on designs?
I start all of my designs as a sketch whether it’s a detailed drawing or a scribble. I will take my sketch into Solidworks (CAD program) to render it in 3D. I will then print out a prototype to see it physically. I will circle through this process until I get it right.
I also have been experimenting with digital sculpting tools as well as modeling in VR!
4. Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get inspiration from everything around me! I like to recreate nature, foods, and man-made items in a fun way. I use Pinterest a lot to study shapes and ways to design. I go to stores to study the way products are made/designed. I also get inspiration from the 3D printing community in general.
5. In the future, what can your fans expect from you in terms of product design?
I love to create modern designs as well as cheeky and playful designs. You can see a bit of both in the future!
6. Lastly, what value does Vulkaza add to your designs?
I believe that Vulkaza will help get my designs to a broader audience. I think this is a great way to share my models with people who are interested in my designs but do not have a 3D printer.
