Frequently Asked Questions

Customer FAQ

All products on Vulkaza are designed by independent 3D designers and 3D printed by certified makers.

In a lot of cases, the designers just want to design products and makers just want to 3D print products. So when people, like you and some of us, who don't have anything to do with 3D printing want to buy these incredible desgins, they are left with no options.

We decided to close the gap between the design and 3D printing. So you're not buying anything from Vulkaza, you are buying from the designers and the makers. We just make this conneciton possible.

Each item is 3D printed on-demand specifically for you in the closest proximity to you. This way is much friendlier for the environment (compared to cross-country shipping) and more time and cost efficient. We work anywhere in the US, Canada, UK and EU. For other locations please check with us.

• Production time: up to 3-5 business days for 3D printing, quality inspection, and packaging. In rare cases, re-printing may extend production time; we'll inform you if this occurs.
• Standard local shipping: delivery within 3-5 business days
• Need your item sooner? Choose Express Printing & Shipping at the check-out (up to to 3 days for 3D-printing + express shipping).

By the way, the same trusted maker who 3D prints your order also ships it to you. So please be don't mind simple but well packaged brown box, we feel it's more sustainable and also allows the maker to focus on 3D printing rather than packaging.

We do it on 3 levels:
1st level - 3D model.
The design of the 3D model is the most crucial aspect of 3D printing. Even not-so-skilled maker can 3D print a quality product if the model is fully optimized. SWe validate and test print every model that goes on Vulkaza to make sure that the end result will satisfy you.

2nd level - maker skills.
All makers who want to start 3D printing with Vulkaza have to prove their skills either through examples of previous work or 3D printing our special model. We only work with experienced makers with 3 to 5 printers and at least 2 years experience.

3rd level - product inspection.
After 3D printing the model, makers take pictures of the final product and upload them via the maker's app. We closly inspect all orders and allow shipping only after the quality has been checked. Not that we don't trust our makers. We're all human beings and have different understanding of quality so this step also allows us to give feedback and improve maker's skills.

As you know, we are 3D printing each item on-demand after you've purchased it. It means that the product has been made specifically for you. Therefore, unfortunately, we can't offer returns, however we have money back guarantee: at Vulkaza we stand behind the quality of our products and strive to provide the best customer experience possible. If, for any reason, you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee.

If you have an issue with your product, it arrived damaged, or you believe that the quality is not great, let us know.

Send an email to hello@vulkaza.com with pictures and a description of the issue and we will happily look at replacing/reprinting your order or do a complete refund.

The money you pay is distributed between the Creator who made the design, the Maker who 3D printed it, and Vulkaza, to cover our expenses of running the platform.

Creator FAQ

No, it's absolutely free to join Vulkaza and start selling your designs as physical products.

We only charge a commission on every product sold so the only investment we ask you to make - is the time to choose and upload the best products and create the account at Vulkaza.

To get started, simply head over to the Workshop https://workshop.vulkaza.com/) and start uploading your files!

During the process you will also have the possibility to write a short bio about yourself and upload a profile picture. We recommend using a real photo and not just a logo, as we see customers are more willing to buy from a real person.

Once the products are ready to publish, one of our team members will review them to maker sure they are well made for 3D-printing and get back to you!

As a Creator you are the one in charge of setting the price! The price can vary depending on the uniqueness of the product and how good you are at presenting the products.

When uploading a product to the Workshop we will automatically calculate the production cost of the product and you can set the final price based on that.

For example: If you want to sell a product for $100, we will need $20 to cover our running costs. Then, if the production costs are e.g. $25, you will keep $55.

It’s up to you to define a final price, we just recommend searching Etsy or other marketplaces to understand a rough acceptable price for similar products to increase the chance of them being bought.

You get paid for all sales at the start of each month for the past month minus the production cost, our fee and any returns.

You can choose to get paid to your bank account of PayPal.

We are growing our 3D printing community on an on-going basis and the goal is to be able to offer 3D printing across the globe. However, right now we offer 3D printing in the following countries:

Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UK, US.

If your fans are located in a country that is not listed above, let us know and we will add it to our county expansion list. Simply email us at creators@vulkaza.com.

The short answer is YES.

The longer answer is that the quality of the end product is our top priority. As you know, 3D model plays a paramount role in ensuring the quality of the end product so it has to be optimized for 3D printing.

If you're unsure about your designs, that is not a problem, we will review them for you.

If you've printed your designs a number of times and know exactly what settings should be used to guarantee the best quality print, add the settings during product upload process.

For now we don't offer any post production services except support removal.

Relying on a distributed manufacturing force comes with certain limitations. Our top priority is product quality and we can't guarantee that if post production like assembly or coloring is required.

If the product requires assembly - make sure to add assembly instructions either in the form of a PDF or youtube video!

Also, please note that at this moment, we do not publish 3D content with an 18+ rating.

We hope that you are familiar with PLA filaments. You can define which exact filament should be used for your products or define a general shade of color to make sure that makers don't have to buy too specific filament for one-time prints. Protecting the environment is very important to us, so let's be conscious when choosing the colors.

For multi-color products, the design file should have filament change pre-defined. Just so you know - filament changes naturally increase the price of the product as more work is required by a maker.

All our trusted production partners have signed a contract with us that requires them to keep track of the STLs and only use them for the exact customer print that is ordered and delete the files afterwards.

We are always improving here and are working on implementing watermarking of STL files, as well as providing g-code directly to our production partners to ensure that the STLs never leave our offices.

Maker FAQ

Vulkaza is a marketplace of 3D-printable designs where fans of Creators can buy their digital art in a physical form.

And YOU make it happen!

After the pandemic, we realized that 3D printing is a super powerful distributed manufacturing force, it's just not organized as such. So we want to change it!

We're connecting makers with 3D printers around the world into a distributd manufacturing force to make things when and where they are needed.

While our ambitions are huge, we have to start small and prove the power of 3D printing to the world in steps.

By signing up to our platform you get access to our app that we use for distributing orders. Once a product is bought in your area, you can see and choose to accept that print job and get paid for printing it.

You can find our payment terms in the Terms of Service.

In short, we cover the filament cost plus pay an hourly rate which includes all fees like handling, packaging etc.

We pay for all the shipped 3D prints 14 days after they've been shipped, provided there are no disputes over quality.

We will make a payment to your preferred bank account or PayPal.

We currently have quite a lot of verified makers, that is enough to cover our production volume, but we are constantly expanding our production network so head over to our Maker page and read more about the service and sign up on the waiting list.
